- Free channels built into the TV. Some smart TVs include free, ad-supported channels. What's available depends on the TV brand and your region, and Indian choices are usually few.
- Free-to-air language programs. SBS shows some news and programs in South Asian languages. It's free but limited.
- Streaming apps on the TV. Many Indian broadcasters have their own apps. Each one is usually a separate subscription, and not every app is available on every TV brand in Australia.
- Casting from your phone. You can cast some apps from a phone to the TV. It works, but the phone is tied up and it's fiddly for elders.
- A plug-in HDMI set-top box. A box like Infinity TV plugs into the TV's HDMI port and brings live TV, movies and dramas in 16 languages into one menu with one remote.
Watching Indian channels on a Samsung, LG, Sony or other smart TV
Infinity TV doesn't need an app on the TV, so the TV brand doesn't matter. If the TV has a free HDMI port, it works. Older TVs that aren't "smart" work too, as long as they have HDMI.
Setting up Infinity TV on your smart TV
- Plug the HDMI cable into the box and into a free HDMI port on the TV.
- Connect the internet: a network cable to your router, or Wi-Fi.
- Plug in the power.
- Press Input or Source on your TV remote and choose the HDMI port you used.
- Start watching with the Infinity remote.
Full steps with pictures are in our setup guide. We recommend a minimum of 30–50 Mbps internet: see what internet speed you need.
Why families use a box instead of TV apps
- One menu, one remote. No switching between apps or logging in.
- Easy for parents and grandparents. Simple remote, easy menu and no passwords.
- 7-day catch-up. Watch shows from the past week whenever suits you.
- One price. $380 AUD with the box and 24 months, then $180 a year. See the price breakdown.
