Watching Indian TV in Australia & NZ

How can I watch Indian channels in Australia?

There are four main ways: free-to-air programs on SBS, Indian broadcasters' own streaming apps (usually one subscription each), a satellite dish, or a plug-in set-top box. Infinity TV is a set-top box for South Asian families in Australia and New Zealand: it plugs into your TV's HDMI port and internet and brings live TV, movies, series and kids' shows in 16 languages into one menu, with one remote. See our guide to watching Indian TV in Australia.

How can I watch Indian TV in New Zealand?

The options are the same as in Australia. Infinity TV delivers across New Zealand, including Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch, at the same AUD price. See Indian TV in New Zealand.

Can I watch Indian channels for free in Australia?

A little. SBS shows some news and programs in South Asian languages, and some smart TVs include a few free channels. The choice is limited, so most families who want live TV in their own language use a paid app or a set-top box.

What is the easiest way for parents and grandparents to watch Indian TV?

A set-top box with a simple remote is usually easiest. Infinity TV is plug and play, with an easy menu and no passwords to remember, so elders can switch it on and find their channel on their own.

Can I watch Indian channels on a smart TV?

Yes. You can install separate apps on the TV, or plug in a box. Infinity TV works with any TV that has a free HDMI port, smart or not, including Samsung, LG and Sony. See Indian channels on a smart TV.

Do I need a satellite dish?

No. Infinity TV works over your home internet, so there is no dish or installer needed.

Price

How much does an Indian TV box cost in Australia?

Prices vary between providers, so compare the total over 2–3 years. Infinity TV is AUD $380 for the box and 24 months of service, then AUD $180 for each 12-month renewal: $560 over 3 years. See the price guide.

Are there monthly fees?

No. You pay AUD $380 up front for the box and 24 months, then AUD $180 for each 12-month renewal.

What is the Mega Bundle?

A limited-time package: the Infinity TV box with 24 months of service plus 12 months of the Infinity App for AUD $430. Bought separately that would be AUD $560, so the Infinity App is 70% off. See the Mega Bundle.

Is the price the same in New Zealand?

Setting up

How do I set up Infinity TV?

Plug the HDMI cable into the box and your TV, connect the internet by network cable or Wi-Fi, plug in the power, then choose that HDMI input on your TV. See the setup guide.

What internet speed do I need?

We recommend a minimum of 30–50 Mbps. See what internet speed you need.

Is Infinity TV an Android box?

No. Infinity TV runs on dedicated Linux hardware, so there is no Google account, app store or app updates to manage.
