Indian TV for Parents in Australia & NZAn easy setup guide for visiting parents and grandparents
Mum and Dad are coming for a long stay, or they already live with you. Here's how to give them TV in their own language that they can switch on and enjoy without calling you at work.

Parents who come to Australia or New Zealand on a visitor or parent visa often stay for months. The kids are at school, you're at work, and the days at home can feel long and quiet, a long way from friends, family and the shows they watched every evening back home.
Familiar TV makes a real difference. A daily serial, the evening news in their own language, devotional programs in the morning, or a cricket match with the grandkids gives the day a shape and helps a new place feel like home.
The catch is that most TV options here assume you're comfortable with phones, apps and passwords. That's where many families get stuck.
What makes TV easy for elders
Before you choose anything, check it against this list. If your parents can't use it alone, it won't get used.
- One remote. No switching between apps, phones and casting.
- No passwords or logins. Nothing to remember or type in.
- Menus by language. Pick Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil or another language and see only those channels.
- Catch-up. Missed the serial? With 7-day catch-up they can watch it later, at a time that suits them here.
- Works on the TV you already have. Any TV with an HDMI port, smart or not.
- Help that answers. Someone they, or you, can message when something looks wrong.
Infinity TV was built around exactly this: a plug-and-play box with a simple remote, live TV, movies and 7-day catch-up in 16 languages, and support on WhatsApp 24/7.
Get it ready before they land
A little preparation means TV is working on day one, while everyone is still tired from the flight.
- Take the free trial a week or two early. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll set up a free 24-hour trial, so you can check the channels they like.
- Check your internet. A normal home connection is enough. Our internet speed guide explains what to look for.
- Choose the room. Put the box on the TV your parents will use most, often the lounge or their bedroom, close to the Wi-Fi modem if you can.
- Set up the box. It takes a few minutes: HDMI, power, Wi-Fi. Follow our 5-step setup guide.
- Save their favourite channels. Open their language list and note the channels they'll want first thing in the morning.
Make a simple note card for the TV
Many families tape a small card next to the TV, written in their parents' language. Keep it to a few lines:
- Turn on: switch on the TV, then pick the HDMI input the box is on.
- Live TV: open Live, choose the language, press OK on a channel.
- Missed a show: open catch-up and go back up to 7 days.
- Movies and dramas: open the movies section and browse by language.
- Screen stuck: turn the box off at the wall for 30 seconds, then on again.
- Still stuck: message Infinity TV on WhatsApp, +61 469 377 288, any time.
If something stops working, our troubleshooting guide covers the common fixes in plain steps.
Their language, their shows
Infinity TV has live TV, movies, dramas, kids' shows and sport in 16 South Asian and English languages. Popular choices for parents include:
- Hindi TV for serials, news and Bollywood movies
- Punjabi TV including Gurbani and Punjabi music
- Gujarati TV, Marathi TV and Bangla TV
- Tamil TV, Telugu TV, Malayalam TV and Kannada TV
- Urdu and Pakistani TV, Nepali TV, Sinhala TV and Odia TV
See the full list on our channels and languages page.
Cost for a long stay
Parent visas and long visits often run for many months, so a one-off cost makes more sense than paying every few weeks. Infinity TV is AUD $380 for the box and 24 months of service, then AUD $180 for each 12-month renewal. See the full price guide.
When your parents head home, the box stays with you for the next visit, or for the rest of the family. In New Zealand it's the same box and price; see our NZ guide.

Indian TV for parents: FAQ
Can my parents use Infinity TV without help?
Yes. It's plug and play, with one simple remote, menus by language and no passwords, so elders can switch it on and watch on their own once it's set up.
Do my parents need a smartphone or an app?
No. Everything runs on the box and the TV remote. A phone is only needed if you want to message us on WhatsApp for help.
Can they watch shows they missed?
Yes. 7-day catch-up lets them go back up to a week, so a serial that aired while they were asleep or out can be watched later.
Does it need a smart TV?
No. Any TV with an HDMI port works, including older TVs in a spare room or granny flat.
How much does it cost for a long visit?
AUD $380 covers the box and 24 months of service. After that, renewal is AUD $180 for 12 months.
How do we try it before they arrive?
Message us on WhatsApp and we'll set up a free 24-hour trial on your own TV, so you can check their channels first.
